Main duties of the job
The post will be based in Central Specimen Reception Leighton Hospital.
This is an interesting and important job, previous experience in this field is not essential as full training is given.

Person specification
Education
Essential criteria
- A-C in Maths, English and a Science subject
- Basic level of theoretical technical knowledge of the role
Desirable criteria
- NVQ Level 2 equivalent
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in a team and alone
- Experience of data entry and IT systems
- Ability to prioritise workload in response to service need
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workload and work to deadlines.
Desirable criteria
- Previous NHS experience
- Previous experience of working in a laboratory environment
Skills
Essential criteria
- Excellent keyboard skills and attention to detail
- Good manual dexterity
Desirable criteria
- Basic knowledge of Word and Excel
Applicant requirements
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
