Phlebotomist

Band 2

Job overview

At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Phlebotomist.

The collection of quality blood samples from patients is a vital stage in many medical investigations. The successful applicants must enjoy working with people and possess good communication skills.

We offer Phlebotomy services in a range of locations across North Midlands including Macclesfield and Leighton, ward based, community multi-cubicle locations and community appointment-based clinics. Attention to detail is important, along with basic keyboard skills and applicants should enjoy the challenge of working in a fast-paced patient environment.

Based at Macclesfield, the successful applicants would be expected to work at various Phlebotomy clinics. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team.

It is a requirement of your role that you have access to a vehicle for work purposes, which must be suitable for travelling to community phlebotomy clinics and transporting samples back to the hospital premises. It is your responsibility to ensure that the vehicle is insured for class 1 business use and for the transportation of pathology samples. Expenses will be paid in accordance with Trust policy when you use your vehicle for work purposes.
