University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship for Band 2 and Band 3 roles. An opportunity to join the Urgent and Emergency Care team at County Hospital and work as part of the new Frailty Assessment Unit as a Ward Clerk. 

In this role you will be the first point of contact for patients into the unit, welcoming them and ensuring administrative tasks are performed in a timely manner.

Main duties of the job

You will support the team with timely admissions and discharges of patients from the ward.

Manage patient notes and other administrative tasks.

Answer and support with telephone calls to the department and communicate efficiently with patients, relatives, GPs and other services. 

Maintain a fully confidential service to all patient information you come into contact with.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

·         Provide excellent customer service to all arriving in the department

·         Provide administrative support to the FAU team

·         Timely processing of patients in and out of the department

·         Organise, prepare and file patient notes

·         Answer and support with telephone calls to the department

·         Additional admin tasks as they arise.
