Staff nurse

Job overview
We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic staff nurse to join our busy outpatient team. In this post you will be responsible for providing elements of patient care, assisting with procedures and undertaking both simple and complex dressing. In addition there are some duties such as dealing with clinic issues and undertaking the nurse in charge role.
Our aim is to ensure our patients receive the highest standard of patient care. We are committed to developing a culture in line with the trust values which also improves quality and enhances the patient experience.
Main duties of the job
Candidates will ideally have some experience of nursing in a surgical setting and also have complex dressing skills although training will be also be offered. You must be flexible to the demands of the service and be able to work as part of a wide multi-disciplinary team.
You will be expected to take on the nurse in charge role once trained which involves the organisation and support of the clinics and staff skill mix.

- Organisation and daily running of the clinics ensuring high standards of patient care and experience.
- Ensuring a safe and effective skill mix of staff.
- Assisting in procedures and chaperoning of patients.
- Simple and complex wound dressings
- Removal of drains/catheters
- Supporting/mentoring student nurses

- At least 1 years post registration experience in an NHS hospital

- Experience in a surgical setting
