Therapy Technical Instructor

Job overview
We are looking for individuals to undertake Therapy Technical Instructor posts within the Medical & Surgical and Network Services Therapy teams.
The posts offer the opportunity to work in an exciting University Hospital. The successful applicants will become part of two clinically based teams that make up the Therapies Directorate. The posts will work within acute wards across UHNM sites.
The successful candidate should have experience of working within a healthcare environment and an understanding of Therapy interventions. The post holder will also be expected to complete competencies in both Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy.
Main duties of the job
The Medical post offers the opportunity to work within the medical and surgical teams providing respiratory, post-surgical, medical, frail and emergency front of house care for patients across the West Midlands.
The Network Services post will rotate across the Trauma, Elective, Orthopaedics, Fractured Neck of Femur wards, the Acute Rehabilitation and Trauma Unit, Neurology, Paediatrics and Cardiothoracic wards.
Supervision will be provided by the Band 5/6/7 Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist and personal development is supported through appraisal and internal and external training.

Education & Qualifications
Essential criteria
- GCSE English Grace C/ 4 or above or evidence of good literacy
- GCSE Maths Grace C/4 or above or evidence of good numeracy
Desirable criteria
- GCSE Science Grace C/4 or above
- Completed or undertaking a Therapy Apprenticeship
- A Level/NVQ Qualification
- Qualification within health/social or sports environment
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience in a NHS or other Healthcare/social/Sports environment
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in a therapy environment
- NHS experience
Skills, Ability & Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Ability to travel to and work across multiple sites
