University Hospitals of North Midlands is currently unable to provide sponsorship this role. If you hold a graduate visa, you are welcome to apply for this role however it is important to note that UHNM will be unable to offer sponsorship at the end of your graduate visa, you must also have at least six months until your graduate visa expires at the start of your employment for training and operational reasons. 

An exciting opportunity has arisen with in our Urology secretarial department. The successful candidate will be required to support the Medical Secretarial Team in the delivery of a comprehensive administrative service, outline new and efficient processes and inpatient and outpatient waiting list management for our speciality, in accordance with the Patient Access Policy. 

Main duties of the job

You will be required to communicate appointments and admission related information to patients and carers along with answering queries both verbally and written, and typing correspondence within performance targets as appropriate, and supporting in the delivery of the local and national NHS targets. This would be an ideal opportunity for anyone who has clerical experience of working in the NHS, but this is not essential as full training will be given to the successful candidate.

The ideal candidate will need to:

o Be able to prioritise their own workload effectively

  • Good general education to include GCSE English or equivalent
Desirable criteria
  • Educated to NVQ Level 2, OCR 2 or equivalent

Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience

  • Knowledge of microsoft office package
  • Ability to work as part of the wider team
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and deal with situations in a sensitive manner
Desirable criteria
  • Previous experience in a clerical post
  • Knowledge of the Hospital EPR system
