The fellow will work with the Director of Clinical Education and clinical education leads to design and deliver initiatives that support trainee wellbeing, strengthen teamworking and improve engagement between trainees and education teams.  The role provides protected time to lead projects addressing challenges faced by resident doctors, including workload pressures, team dynamics and access to support.

Main duties of the job

The Wellbeing Clinical Leadership Fellow will work with the Medical Education team to develop and deliver initiatives that support the wellbeing, engagement and professional development of resident doctors within the Trust.

A key part of the role will be to design and lead projects aimed at improving the training environment, strengthening teamworking and promoting a supportive culture for trainees. This will include engaging with resident doctors to understand their experiences, facilitating wellbeing or reflective sessions, and working with supervisors and education leads to identify opportunities for improvement.

The fellow will work closely with the Director of Clinical Education, Clinical Tutors and the wider Medical Education faculty to support initiatives that enhance communication between trainees and education teams and encourage early identification of trainees who may benefit from additional support.

The role will also involve evaluating the impact of initiatives through feedback and participation data, and sharing learning through local education governance structures such as Local Faculty Groups.

The successful candidate will undertake a Postgraduate Certificate in Healthcare Leadership and Commissioning with Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) and participate in regional leadership development activities.
