Job overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Senior Physiotherapist to join our Acute Physiotherapy Team to deliver high-quality, evidence based care to patients across the front door (72hr) services of Frimley Park Hospital.
Main duties of the job
- Provide an advanced physiotherapy service to patients within the acute hospital environment, including patients with complex, unstable presentations.
- Undertake comprehensive assessments, develop and implement individualised treatment and rehabilitation programmes using evidence‑based practice.
- Maintain professional and legal accountability for all aspects of clinical practice, including safe decision‑making and accurate, timely documentation.
- Manage and prioritise a varied and unpredictable caseload, responding appropriately to urgent and time‑critical referrals in ED.
- Work collaboratively with the MDT to support effective patient management and discharge planning.
- Communicate effectively and sensitively with patients, relatives and carers, including in challenging or emotional situations.
- Supervise, support and contribute to the development of Band 5 physiotherapists, assistants, technical instructors and students within the acute setting.
- Contribute to induction, in‑service training and education of physiotherapy and multidisciplinary colleagues.
- Participate in clinical governance activities, including audit, research, evaluation and quality improvement, to enhance service delivery and patient outcomes.
- Support service organisation and leadership within the acute team, including deputising for the Team Leader when required.
- Actively engage in CPD, appraisal and reflective practice in line with professional and organisational requirements.

Essential criteria
- HCPC registration
- Degree in Physiotherapy
- Evidence of recent clinically relevant study
Desirable criteria
- Member of relevant clinical interest group
Experience
Essential criteria
- Completion of band 5 rotations (This includes experience in the relevant clinical areas, General Medicine, Orthopaedics, Surgical/ICU, Elderly Care, Neuro, Outpatients)
- Evidence of supervision skills
- On call respiratory working competence
- Training and supervision to support all physiotherapy staff and students.
- Multidisciplinary working.
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of Audit/Research experience
- Experience in development of a project or service.

- Able to write clear concise report
- Organisational skills.
