Job overview
We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic person to join the phlebotomy team at Horsham Hospital. The successful candidates will work as part of a team collecting blood samples from the outpatient clinic.
You will be expected to have good communication skills and have a caring and compassionate nature. A nursing or similar healthcare / carer background would be an advantage.
Main Duties are;
To assist in the provision of an effective phlebotomy service with other members of the phlebotomy team on completion of training.
To take blood samples by venepuncture using the standard techniques approved by the Pathology Department
To assist in the provision of phlebotomy training and mentoring as and when requested.
The working hours will be 20 hrs per week, Monday to Friday 12pm - 4pm which are non-negotiable. The workload fluctuates on a daily basis the successful candidate must be flexible to work extra hours.You may also be required to work across sites at East Surrey Hospital or Crawley Hospital on an as and when basis.
The period of initial training will take place at Crawley Hospital.
