Are you a highly skilled, electrically biased engineer looking to make a real difference in healthcare? NHS Frimley Health Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated and adaptable Multi-Skilled Electrical Engineer to join our Facilities Maintenance team.

About the Role
You will deliver a high-quality, flexible maintenance service supporting our commitment to excellent patient care. Your expertise will cover Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), repairs, alterations, testing, and installation of electrical systems and equipment across our Trust estate. This role requires you to work proactively, often responding to complex faults with limited initial information, ensuring our environments are safe, reliable, and welcoming for patients, staff, and visitors.

 

Main duties of the job

  • Deliver planned and reactive maintenance across electrical installations and services

  • Diagnose and resolve faults promptly, ensuring minimum disruption

  • Support capital projects by witnessing and accepting new electrical works

  • Maintain compliance with all statutory and Trust-specific safety policies, including Legionella, Asbestos, and Electrical Safety

  • Work safely across diverse Trust environments, including children’s wards and clinical areas

Your Skills and Experience

  • Proven multi-skilled engineering background, with a strong electrical bias

  • Experience with AHUs, motors, digital Building Management Systems, and electrical testing

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team

  • Competent in interpreting schematic drawings and specifications

  • Willingness to participate in on-call duties and respond flexibly to service needs

  • Previous hospital or healthcare environment experience is desirable but not essential

Essential criteria
  • Level 3 Electrical & Testing
  • BS7671 18th Edition Electrical Regulations
  • NVQ Level 3 Electrical Testing & Design
Desirable criteria
  • Experiance of working in an NHS trust
  • Knowledge of HTM,s
  • Experiance with BMS controls

IT Literate

Essential criteria
  • Must be computer literate
Desirable criteria
  • Must be able to use basic PDA/Mobile devices

Communicatuion

Essential criteria
  • Level 2 English & Maths Good level of basic education – able to demonstrate literacy, numeracy, and comprehension skills
