Job overview

Swansea Bay University Health Board is seeking an experienced and motivated Contracting Manager to join our Strategic Commissioning Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping, managing and improving commissioned adult care services across a complex.

Working closely with Local Authorities, care providers and clinical colleagues, you will lead on the development, implementation and management of contracts for continuing healthcare (CHC) and complex care, including care homes, domiciliary care and supported living services.

We are looking for someone with experience in commissioning, contracting, procurement or service management within health or social care, coupled with excellent analytical, communication and negotiation skills. You will be comfortable working autonomously, managing competing priorities and developing effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of commissioning and contract management principles, governance arrangements and quality assurance processes, with a commitment to improving outcomes for individuals who rely on commissioned care services.

This role offers the opportunity to influence service quality, support innovation and contribute to the future sustainability of adult care services across the region.

If you are ready to make a real impact through commissioning, contract management and partnership working, we would love to hear from you.

Main duties of the job

This is a varied and rewarding role where you will:

•             Lead on contract management and performance monitoring

•             Analyse quality, performance and financial information to identify risks, opportunities and areas for improvement.

•             Support service transformation, market development and commissioning initiatives.

•             Work collaboratively with partners to ensure safe, effective and value-for-money services.

•             Provide specialist advice on contract management, provider performance and service sustainability.

•             Respond to complex issues including provider concerns, safeguarding matters and service quality challenges.
