We are delighted to offer this post based at The Welsh Centre of Burns and Plastic Surgery in Moriston Hospital which is aimed at strengthening skills in Burns and Plastic Surgery and Medical Education. It is intended that these posts will provide an excellent learning opportunity and will enhance individual’s CV’s attracting high calibre candidates who are interested in both medical education and a career in Plastic Surgery. This post will have responsibility for students on placement in the Burns and Plastic Surgery Department in conjunction with the TPD for Plastic Surgery and Clinical Lead for Educational Placements in Burns and Plastic Surgery, alternating time between clinical work and tutor role at SHO level
Main duties of the job
The postholder will alternate their time between the clinical tutor role and clinical work within the Burns & Plastic Surgery service. The postholder will contribute to undergraduate teaching and will have opportunity to build portfolios and experience in teaching and plastic surgery

Swansea Bay University Health Board has responsibility for the health of around 390,000 people in the Neath Port Talbot and Swansea areas, with a budget of around £1 billion and employing 12,500 people. We are a University Health Board working in partnership with Swansea University, Swansea School of Medicine, the School of Health Science and the Institute of Life Science. Essential criteria
- Full GMC Registration with a licence to Practice
- Doctor will have completed F1/F2 or equivalent experience/training
- Basic training in ICM and attained initial competencies
- Further relevant degree/diploma/teaching qualification
Desirable criteria
- Previous experience of working in the NHS/experience of NHS working practices and systems.
Essential
Essential criteria
- Certification or instructor status in ATLS
- Evidence of working effectively as a part of a multidisciplinary team
- Teaching and training of post/undergraduate medical staff

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
