Job overview
Ensure the day to day efficient and safe working of all building services within the Health Board healthcare establishments. This will require a through theoretical and practical knowledge and understanding of the operation of a wide range of structures, construction methods, fabrics, fittings and finishes within designated healthcare premises.
Main duties of the job
The post holder may need to work at heights using ladders, cradles, zip-ups and scaffolding as and when required and after receiving the appropriate training.
Ensure that all work areas are maintained in a safe secure and tidy manner.
At times undertake duties as a lone worker throughout the Health Board.
Drive/operate plant, machinery and Health Board vehicles as directed following appropriate training.
Undertake duties in a safe and efficient manner working within Health Board and departmental Health & Safety policies
and procedures
Participate in an on call rota as required by the Health Board to ensure that emergency repairs/situations are attended to.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply

- Time Served Apprenticeship
Desirable criteria
- HND Level in Building Services
Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant experience post apprenticeship in the maintenance environment
Desirable criteria
- Must have a good working knowledge of all relevant statutory regulations, bye laws, policies and procedures, Codes of Practice, HTM’s etc.
Driving
Essential criteria
- Passed and holds a current valid driving Licence
Desirable criteria
- Experience of towing and commercial vehicles
Qualifications

- City & Guilds Part II
Desirable criteria
- NVQ level 2 or level 3
