Job overview
The post holder will provide and maintain a flexible, dedicated, comprehensive support service to departments of the
Health Board, under the direction of Portering Coordinator / Portering Shift Leader, enabling both clinical and non-clinical departments to function effectively.
- Undertake a wide range of routine portering duties including moving and handling, in line with portering department and general Health Board policies and procedures, with a commitment to customer care, following on the job training.
- Work as part of a team to provide an efficient portering services to the Health Board, contributing to first class customer service to all users of the Health Board.
Main duties of the job
- To transfer patients, medical equipment and associated medical sundries as delegated by the line management by use of bed,
chair, trolley etc. - Transfer furniture and assist in relocating equipment during office relocations and or new developments, including disposal where
appropriate
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- Good standard of general education covering a number of topics
- Understanding of customer services within the hospital environment

- Fire Wardens Certificate
- Previous experience working in a portering role or role involving working with members of the general public
