Gateshead CTT are looking to employ Community Mental Health Practitioners across all Gateshead West area.  We have  posts that are suitable for registered Nurses, Social Workers or Occupational Therapists who must be registered with the NMC, HCPC or Social Work England. 

Main duties of the job

Here within the Gateshead Community Treatment Team  there is a real sense of team spirit, and we are looking to add clinicians with this same positive outlook to our already excellent skill set. As part of this team, you will be encouraged to grow and develop in your role, and to contribute to the development of the service.

To be responsible for the Assessment and Management of casework of service users who have substantial and complex needs.

To deliver evidenced based Clinical and Psychologically based Interventions.

Coordinate Treatment Planning & Interventions, Reviews and Discharge Planning.

We are able to support staff to take up accredited training in evidence based therapies You will be able to develop your skills by working with service users who have a range of complex mental health needs with associated risk, and you will need to demonstrate experience of being able to plan and deliver in collaboration with service users, families and their carers.

Certificates and experience

Essential criteria
  • Professional Qualification and current Professional Registration as, a First Level Registered Nurse (RNMH, RMN, RNLD) or equivalent as an AHP, Social Worker or Clinical Psychologist
  • Up to date knowledge/ experience of relevant legislation
  • Evidence based clinical skills
  • 12 to 24 month band 5 qualified nurse experience dependent upon service need.
Desirable criteria
  • Post registration qualifications in psychological interventions
  • Experience of working within a community team

knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Awareness and understanding of professional accountability, NMC (or equivalent regulatory bodies) standards and other local and national initiatives
  • Experience of working with and an understanding of moderate to severe mental health difficulties

Essential criteria
  • risk assessment and risk management/ safety planning skills
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team
  • Evidence of good time keep and organisation skills
