Job overview
The Patient and Carer Involvement Service sits within the Corporate Services of the organisation, there are two specialist domains, currently known as the ‘Involvement Service’, and the ‘Peer Support Service’, both interface with clinical and other corporate teams in addition to partner agencies across the Trust footprint.
We are an innovative, ambitious, friendly, and supportive team and are delighted to be able to offer the right person the opportunity to join us in this management role. You will have direct management responsibility of the Involvement Coordinator staff and will be office based at St Georges Park, Morpeth, full-time.
You will be responsible for the management and ongoing development of a comprehensive efficient and effective administration and clerical team on behalf of the service. Required to not only maintain effective systems and procedures for all areas of work within the Involvement Core Business team, but look to continuously improve systems. This will support the growth of patient and carer involvement across the Trust and the increase of people joining the Involvement Bank. The Involvement Bank is a centralised resource, of over 200 registered people, with lived experience of mental health services, who support involvement activities.
Main duties of the job
The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills with extensive experience of working with Microsoft packages, to include Excel, Outlook and Word. You will be expected to analyse, collate and present business sensitive information, recording and reporting in respect of involvement governance, processes, and payments.
With direction from the Quality and Performance Manager you will administer public and internal events. Additionally ensuring there is administrative support in meetings for the Trust and Localities (further details in job description).
You will have significant experience in administration and secretarial management and must demonstrate high levels of accuracy and attention to detail. The role will have a considerable level of autonomy to develop and support the administration team. You must work well with others proving excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Education and Qualification
Essential criteria
- Degree Level qualification, Management Certificate or equivalent management experience.
- Good computer skills and a working knowledge of Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Patient Information Systems
- Evidence of continuous professional development

- Line management/supervisory certificate
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Knowledge of issues of working with confidential information and understanding the need for confidentiality
- Has the ability to relate objectives and actions to the strategic aims of the organisation
- Significant experience in administration and secretarial management. Must have experience managing staff and dealing with the public
- Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team
