Through recent portfolio changes we are looking to recruit a Senior Pharmacist with experience in a leadership role to drive and deliver our innovative pharmacy services within  Sunderland and South Tyneside.

This is a  fantastic opportunity to join our team and to develop and lead on services both within the Pharmacy Department, Trust and wider system. The successful candidate will have well developed listening and communication skills as well as developed leadership skills to build effective working relationships within and beyond the Pharmacy Department. You will provide pro-active professional pharmaceutical support to our clinicians, managers, patients and carers as well as supporting the Pharmacy team.

The postholder will be part of the pharmacy management team within the department and will represent pharmacy services both within the Trust and externally. Mental health experience is desirable but not essential and we welcome applications from all pharmacy sectors.

We provide pharmacy and medicines optimisation services to all our mental health, learning disability and neuro-rehabilitation inpatient areas, as well as to community mental health teams, crisis teams, psychiatric liaison and a variety of other specialist areas.  Pharmacy staff are regarded as valued members of the multi-disciplinary team. We have several pharmacist independent prescribers, who are active within a range of clinical services.

We are one of the most research-active Mental Health Trusts in the country, enjoying close working relationships with local Universities in teaching and research. We work collaboratively with other Trusts across the region on areas of common interest, including service development, research and training.
