Band 2 Parkview Clinic - CAMHS Inpatient Services

Be the welcoming face of our service.

We are looking for a friendly, reliable and highly organised Receptionist to join our Children's and Adolescent's Mental Health Inpatient Service.

As the first point of contact for young people, families, carers, visitors and professionals, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming, safe and professional environment. Every day is different, and no two interactions are the same.

Working as part of a supportive administrative and clinical team, you will manage a busy reception area, handle enquiries, welcome visitors, coordinate access to the building, support meeting room bookings, distribute post and deliveries, and provide essential administrative support that helps our service run smoothly. 

This role would suit someone who genuinely enjoys helping people, takes pride in providing excellent customer service, and can consistently deliver a warm and professional welcome to everyone who comes through our doors.

The Receptionist will provide a professional front-of-house service within the Children's Mental Health Inpatient Service, acting as the first point of contact for patients, families, visitors and professionals. Key duties include managing enquiries, visitor access, appointments, post and deliveries, reception emails, room bookings and administrative records, while maintaining confidentiality, security and health and safety standards. We are seeking a friendly, reliable and organised individual with excellent customer service and communication skills, the ability to work effectively under pressure, and confidence using IT systems, including Microsoft Office. Essential requirements include GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent), experience in a customer-facing, reception or administrative role, strong organisational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information appropriately. Applications are welcomed from candidates across a range of sectors, including retail, hospitality, education, healthcare and administration. NHS experience is desirable but not essential.   • Act as the first point of contact for telephone and face-to-face enquiries. 
  • Manage visitor sign-in procedures and maintain site security processes. 
  • Liaise with clinical and administrative teams regarding visitors, admissions and appointments. 
  • Coordinate the collection and distribution of post, deliveries, parcels and clinical samples.
  • Support meeting room bookings and maintain room schedules. 
  • Maintain accurate records, logs and administrative systems. 
  • Monitor reception email accounts and respond to enquiries appropriately. 
  • Support the safe operation of the unit by following security, confidentiality and health and safety procedures. 
  • Work closely with colleagues across the service to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of reception and administrative services.

Experience
