Educational Mental Health Practitioner  / Children's Wellbeing Practitioner – Band 5

Full time / Part time, permanent role. The trust also offers flexible working.

In line with the government’s priority to increase access and availability of mental health and wellbeing support for children and young people, the new Education Mental Health Practitioner (EMHP) role is an opportunity to deliver evidence-based early interventions for children and young people, working across both educational settings and healthcare sectors.

The trust currently has vacancies within the Coventry and South Warwickshire Teams. 

Main duties of the job

Are you a qualified EMHP  or about to qualify?  Are you passionate about delivering low intensity psychological interventions to children, young people, parents and carers?  If so, then this is an exciting opportunity to be a key part of a team of people delivering interventions into schools and other settings in the Coventry and South Warwickshire area. You will have successfully completed or be about to successfully complete your EMHP training.

  • EMHP Qualifiction
  • Evidence of working with Children and Young People who have experienced mental health problems

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Able to write clear reports and letters
  • Ability to form positive therapeutic relationships with service users and carers whilst maintaining appropriate boundaries

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working within set criteria and referring to other services as appropriate

  • Car owner / Driver
  • Registered with the BABCP or BPS
