Children’s Respiratory Physiotherapist - Band 6

Full time 37.5 hours a week (Mon-Fri)

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Band 6 respiratory physiotherapist to join our team at CWPT.

We provide specialist Respiratory Physiotherapy assessment and intervention to a caseload of children and young people (CYP) aged 0-19 years with respiratory complications of whom many have complex physical disabilities. There are opportunities to work in a variety of settings including special schools, mainstream schools, respite, hospitals, family home and hospices.

We are a supportive team providing regular clinical and management supervision, IST’s and journal clubs. CWPT support external CPD opportunities related to your role.

Main duties of the job

You will manage a diverse caseload of CYP with respiratory physiotherapy needs in accordance with departmental clinical pathways, protocols and guidelines. This includes specialist respiratory CYP clinical assessment and intervention, formulation of management plans and reports, deliver training programmes including competency base training and assessment for a wide range of professionals, CWPT carers and parents.

You will be required to work autonomously and alongside other Allied Health Professionals, Consultants, Community Paediatricians, Community Children’s Nurses, education staff and social services to deliver a high standard of care for CYP in Coventry.

  • Physiotherapy degree or equivalent
  • Registration with Health Professions Council

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Essential criteria
  • Excellent written communication
  • Excellent IT Skills
  • Post graduate training relevant to client group.

EXPERIENCE

Essential criteria
  • Transferable skills as a qualified physiotherapist
  • Clinical respiratory physiotherapy experience with transferable skills to a paediatric caseload

OTHER

Essential criteria
  • Car driver/owner (It is unlikely that public transport will meet this requirement)
