We are looking to recruit a research assistant to support us publishing research for our exciting new project.

Exciting investment at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust (CWPT) allows us to expand our existing Forensic Community Mental Health Team. We’re building a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team of 27 skilled professionals to deliver outstanding mental health care to adults with forensic presentations. This ambitious, 2-year project is backed by significant funding and is focused on transforming mental health services for people who are a risk to others.

What We’re Working On:

  • Setting up a dedicated clinic space within a local remand prison
  • Improving the transition pathway from secure care to community services
  • Embedding forensic specialists into each Community Mental Health Team (CMHT)
  • Providing consultation and formulation support to staff and services
  • Creating a co-production forum for collaborative service development
  • Offering targeted risk reduction interventions in the community
  • Delivering comprehensive forensic training for all CWPT staff
  • Leading research on community forensic services to shape future care

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The successful candidate will have a relevant health / mental health related degree or qualification. They should be computer literate, with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills. Knowledge of and experience of health and/or social care research is essential. The role will involve travel to research sites across Coventry and Warwickshire so applicants must have the ability to move freely across the Trust.

Essential criteria
  • Educated to 2/1 or above degree level in health related subject (e.g. psychology, health sciences or similar)
  • Provide evidence of continuous professional development, documented within CPD portfolio

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Research experience in mental health or health
  • Evidence of involvement in clinical and research governance
  • Experience of administrative work including data management
  • Experience of taking assessments facilitating focus groups, conducting interviews
  • Experience of extracting and coding data from clinical case notes
