Senior Clinical Fellow in Trauma & Orthopaedics

Job overview

This is an innovative and forward-looking Orthopaedic Department, which is rapidly expanding clinically and academically both in terms of numbers of Consultants, overall workload and increasing sub-specialisation. The Orthopaedic Surgeons work extremely well as a group. All the orthopaedic surgeons work similar numbers of sessions, some do less trauma, some more administration or elective work. We are looking to appoint one Trust Grade Registrar who will work with a team of orthopaedic consultants. He/she will assist these consultants and work with the other registrars in a 1 in 6 to 1 in 8 on call partnership pattern which is currently under review. The post is for an initial 4 months starting from October 2025 and will form part of the Trauma SPR rota.

Main duties of the job

· Regular Orthopaedic outpatient and fracture clinics at the Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital and Rugby St Cross.

· Operating sessions as required

· Working with the consultant to supervising the treatment of patients in The Hospital of St Cross and University Hospital.

· Carrying out regular business or teaching ward rounds as appropriate.

· On-call and trauma duties including nights and weekends

· Participation in clinical audit within the Unit.

· Active involvement in the training and supervision of Junior Medical Staff and medical students on ward rounds, in theatre and in clinics.
