We are looking for an enthusiastic, resilient, motivated and proactively driven individual to fulfil the role of an administrator within the Medical Appraisal and Revalidation team supporting the Responsible Officer function.

 Working as a Medical Appraisal and Revalidation Administrator is a specialised, confidential, and sometimes challenging role.  The Postholder needs good all-round administration skills, feel comfortable dealing with medical staff at all levels, must be trustworthy, polite, kind, and deal appropriately with often sensitive and confidential situations.  

We are seeking someone with previous administration experience with the skills to provide high level support to the appraisal and revalidation lead/manager. Key to this role is the ability to support the development, implementation and maintenance of effective and robust systems and processes.

Main duties of the job

You will be liaising with medical staff and other senior professionals both within BTHFT and other external stakeholders from GMC and NHS England. You will have the skills and confidence to communicate effectively at all levels, verbally and in writing, as well as a proactive, positive approach and demonstrable experience of contributing at a high level to a business support function.

The successful candidate will be able to think on their feet and balance conflicting priorities. Compiling information and recording data is a key aspect of the role, therefore you will have an eye for detail along with excellent IT skills. This role can be fast paced and require you to work independently and collaboratively.

  • Previous relevant and demonstrable experience within an administrative role and working in a busy environment

  • Previous NHS experience in a similar role
  • Communicating with senior clinicians

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent to include English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above or equivalent
  • A recognised administrative qualification /or recognised significant experience of working in an administrative position to NVQ 3 level.
