Main duties of the job

Bradford Maternity Service is a dynamic service that supports the women of Bradford through the journey of pregnancy and birth. We are a busy, acute unit with many challenges and we need the support of our multidisciplinary work force to enable a high standard of care to be provided. This is a hospital based post working in our Maternity Unit.

For this role you will work within a multidisciplinary team where tasks will include but are not limited to provision of reception cover and effective communication with patients, visitors and staff face to face. Input of clinical/administrative data such as referrals, booking outpatient appointments, and entering inpatient activity (admissions, transfers and discharges).

Candidates should be literate and numerate, with excellent organisational, time management, IT skills, the ability to work effectively as part of a team and to work without supervision.

You will have a high standard of communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with staff at all levels. You will have enthusiasm, motivation and demonstrate pride in your work.   We require someone who will ensure we put our patients first to ensure the best patient experience.

We can offer staff gymnasiums on hospital sites, subsidised restaurants, final salary pension scheme including life assurance cover and childcare facilities.

Please read the Person Specification carefully before applying and ensure you meet at least all of the essential criteria.

Working for our organisation

Our district has 17,000 businesses including more FTSE 100 companies than any other north of England city. From the best curry in the country, to the world's turbo chargers, to breakthrough technologies that help to manage chronic pain, we have something for everyone.

We have a strong service sector and community ethos that works together to make Bradford a great place to live and work. As the youngest city in the UK, we are investing heavily in skills for the future by providing the right training at every level for the significant sectors of our economy, and Bradford University and Bradford College are positioning themselves as exemplars in their field.
