The role of a Registered Nurse is varied, both equally challenging & rewarding, you will be at the forefront of providing direct patient care. You should be able to demonstrate a good verbal & written command of English, excellent communication, & interpersonal skills as you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the patients’ healthcare experiences by contributing to the on-going support of the patients and their visitors.

Main duties of the job

The successful post holder will be responsible for (leading / delivering) excellence in Nursing care in accordance with the Trust’s Nursing & Midwifery Strategy and the Bradford Model Of Nursing and Midwifery Care.


Please note this role supports a 24/7 service and therefore, as Registered Nurse, you will be required to work a combination of shifts, including days, nights, weekends, and Bank Holidays:


-    Early Shift: 7:00am-15:00pm / 7:30am – 15:30pm 
-    Long Day: 7:00 am – 7:30pm / 07:30am  – 8pm
-    Late Shift:  12:00 Noon – 8pm 
-    Night Shift:  7pm – 7:30 am / 7:30-pm – 8am

Full time hours = 37.5 Hrs 
Part time hours = 23.5 Hrs to 30 Hrs. 
The Minimum required hours for this role are = 23.5 Hrs.

Responsible for the assessment of patients’ care needs and the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of patient care

Participates in team leadership and the management of the ward/department, including supervision and delegation of work to junior staff as directed by the ward/department manager

Participates in teaching, mentoring and assessing of students, trainees and professional staff

Experience

  • Additional relevant experience: recent NHS placement experience

  • Good verbal and written command of English.
  • Good communication/interpersonal skills
  • Ability to plan own time and that of junior staff, use own initiative and act independently within the bounds of existing knowledge and skills
  • Capable of working within a multidisciplinary team
  • Ability to assess patient needs and plan, implement and evaluate care appropriately
