We’re looking for a dedicated and proactive individual to join our team, supporting tenants to live independently and thrive in their homes. In this role, you’ll provide vital advice and guidance on welfare benefits, help tenants access the right services, and ensure they receive the support they need to maintain safe, secure, and welcoming home. Every day will bring fresh opportunities to empower people, build relationships, and make a positive impact.

 

From conducting home visits and coordinating move-ins, to tackling low-level anti-social behaviour and promoting tenant engagement, you’ll play a key role in helping tenants feel safe, respected, and part of a supportive neighbourhood.

Main duties of the job

·         Visiting clients on a weekly basis

·         Offering a range of support to help maintain tenancies

·         Monitoring health and safety requirements

·         Working closely with the housing and maintenance departments

·         Assessing new clients to the service

·         Liaising with external agencies

 

The successful candidate will have.

 

·         An understanding of the needs of clients who access our services

·         An ability to solve problems creatively and swiftly

·         Excellent communication skills

·         An ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of team.

·         IT skills as most administration functions are carried out via Office 365

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Responsible for providing information advice and assistance on entitlement to Welfare Benefits.

 

To ensure that tenant housing records and other information systems are completed accurately and within agreed timescales.

 

Responsible for ensuring tenants receive a level of support appropriate to their needs to maintain their home, in accordance with the current policy and relevant legislative and regulatory standards, including those set by the Regulator of Social Housing. This support is delivered through individual tenant support plans using an appropriate planning model and includes helping tenants access other support providers as needed.

 

To liaise with external agencies such as Housing Benefit, Police, Environmental Health, and Mental Health services when required.

 

Conduct regular inspections of tenants’ homes and communal areas to ensure they are maintained to a clean, safe, and decent standard for all tenants, colleagues, and visitors. Support tenants to take responsibility for their living environment and provide guidance or referrals where additional help is needed to maintain their accommodation appropriately.

 

Support tenants through the end of tenancy and new tenant journey by coordinating practical arrangements and liaising with support agencies, property services, utility providers, welfare benefits teams, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth transitions and successful move-ins.

Essential criteria
  • Knowledge of welfare benefits and relevant legislation.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of partnership working with external agencies
  • Experience in conducting property inspections and supporting tenants to maintain their homes.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in working in social housing.
