Job overview

To work effectively as a highly skilled, qualified practitioner as part of a multi-disciplinary team, contributing to the detection of breast cancer within the symptomatic breast service.

Main duties of the job

  1.       

    1.         To assist the organisation in the efficient operation of the mammography service.

    2.         To undertake clinical mammographic procedures as an autonomous and highly skilled practitioner, professionally and legally accountable for all aspects of their professional and clinical work.

    3.    To be highly involved during interventional radiological procedures i.e. Stereotactic core biopsies and mammographic guided localisations using highly specialised digital equipment.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience in an NHS hospital
  • Experience in a symptomatic breast clinic
  • Experience with biopsies
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in the screening breast service

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • 15. Perform rigorous quality control monitoring including radiographic and technical quality assurance checks on all equipment and document results
Desirable criteria
  • To have knowledge of the QA programme for mammography
