Job overview
We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced, and enthusiastic Band 7 Biomedical Scientist with experience or a keen interest in training to work within the Microbiology department, Salisbury District Hospital.
The successful candidate will:
Hold registration with the HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) as a Biomedical Scientist. Have a BSc in Biomedical Sciences or equivalent. Have a MSC in a relevant subject, Fellowship of the Institute of Biomedical Science (FIBMS) or equivalent experience. Experience in a UK Microbiology laboratory is preferred.
The Quality Management role will have oversight of the Governance agenda and the Quality Management System of the department, and will be expected to lead all the staff in the maintenance and development of these processes.
The postholder will be expected to support the other members of the senior leadership team in the day to day operational management of the laboratory where required.
Participate in provision of the out of hours service (weekends and Bank Holidays) where required is expected.
Main duties of the job
Provide training on all aspects of the quality management system e.g Document Control, Audit, Asset, Competency Training
Lead the department during Quality Assessments.
Monitor compliance of KPI's using data analysis and Power BI reports and conduct departmental 1-1s for accountability
Conduct audits on all areas of the quality management system
Support service improvement initiatives using collated feedback
To support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service.
