This is a pivotal role supporting the operational management of designated specialties and leading administrative services to ensure high-quality patient care and performance delivery.

This is a developmental post offering rotational duties and opportunities for professional growth.

Main duties of the job

 Under the leadership of the Lead Manager the post holder will play a key role in both the management of designated specialties and the operational day to day management of all administration processes. The post holder will support achievement of all Annual Operating Framework targets.

Deputise for Lead Manager as required and manage appropriate medical staffing issues on behalf of the Director within designated specialties.

This is a developmental post and may include rotational placement, duties and development opportunities.

  • Educated to degree/ diploma level or equivalent experience

  • Management or professional qualification

Knowledge

  • Comprehensive understanding of performance target as outlined in Annual Quality framework
  • Comprehensive understanding of performance targets
  • Knowledge of surgical services and challenges faced by division
Desirable criteria
  • Knowledge of information systems

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working with multi disciplinary teams and across divisions and departments
  • Awareness of external drivers for change
  • Experience of developing services and implementing change to meet performance targets
  • Experience of managing teams, undertaking recruitment, managing performance and sickness and disciplinary issues
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of benchmarking services and introducing change as a result
  • Experience of participating in consultant job plan reviews
