Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time Band 3 Housekeeper to join Morris ward at Wrexham Maelor Hospital.
The post holder will work as an integral part of the ward team. They will be responsible for the co-ordination of all patient facilities/services in the endoscopy Unit and for ensuring a clean, safe and comfortable environment.
The main element of the role is ensuring the delivery of cleaning, catering and minor maintenance, together with other specified tasks to meet individual patient needs, as determined by the Unit Sister or clinical leader.
The post holder will be required to work closely with contractors and support services departments. He/she will monitor quality standards and rectify deficiencies in liaison with the Unit Manager/Clinical Lead Nurse and work as guided by the Trust’s Senior Housekeeper.
This is a 7.5 hour permanent post.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to ensure the delivery of the cleaning responsibility for the department, minor works, equipment maintenance, together with other specified tasks to meet the needs of a busy Assessment Unit, the post holder will be expected to work closely with contractors and support other services/departments.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
- To ensure a clean and tidy environment for patients and visitors.
- To order stock and maintain stock control.
- Report equipment that needs repair and maintenance.
- To be aware of any changes to waste categorisation etc and make sure all staff aware by displaying posters.
- To ensure own actions reduce risk to health and safety and to promote a health and safety culture within the workplace.
- To ensure the department has sufficient stocks to meet patient and staff needs.
