The post holder will not be participating on an on-call rota at present, but may be required to do so in future if service needs require this.

You may be required to work at any of the Trust sites and as services develop and transform you may be required to work in partnership with and for other Organisations.
Main duties of the job
The duties outlined below are not definitive and may be changed in accordance with the needs of the service. The post holder will be expected to undertake the following duties:
To provide outpatient clinic and procedure lists for inflammatory skin disease and skin cancer patients in the adult and paediatric population.
To be an active member of the skin cancer multidisciplinary team, with regular attendance at the alternate week MDT meetings.
To provide support, training and governance to nurses and any junior medical staff in the team. Support for local GPSI , GPs in training and students from regional hospitals is also anticipated.
To provide a comprehensive Dermatology service, in collaboration with other Dermatologists, including inpatient care and referrals, outpatient referrals and treatment and telephone or electronic advice and guidance to local GPs.

We have two main hospital sites: Bradford Royal Infirmary and St Luke’s Hospital. Maternity Services are centralised at the maternity unit on the Bradford Royal Infirmary site which includes our neonatal unit. The main theatres and emergency admissions are located at Bradford Royal Infirmary while St Luke’s Hospital provides a large outpatient facility and wards for therapy and rehabilitation. In 2021/22 our Trust services delivered 5,525 babies, performed 13,102 operations in theatre and handled 423,154 outpatient appointments. We had 108,503 attendances at our Emergency Department
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
All staff in the Department are managerially accountable to the Clinical Director who has overall responsibility for the services.
The post holder will be required to support the Lead Dermatologist in policy and strategy development as a member of the Clinical Business Unit Team.
The post holder will work within the Trust’s framework for Corporate Governance including standing orders, standing financial instructions and financial procedures.
As part of the Clinical Business Unit, assist in the cost effective utilisation of resources, including pay and non-pay items such as equipment and drugs, within budgets.
Provide continuing responsibility for the care of patients in your charge in liaison with consultant colleagues and for the proper functioning of the department in line with the Operational Policy and Strategic Plan (as amended from time to time).

Essential criteria
- Completion of an approved period of training in Dermatology
- Ability to offer expert clinical opinion on a range of Dermatological problems
- Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care of patients
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of sub-specialty interests would be beneficial

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- MBChB or equivalent
- MRCP or FRCS of equivalent to specialty (UK) or equivalent
- Member of the British College of Dermatology (UK) or equivalent
- Full GMC registration and hold licence to practise
- Additional postgraduate training (eg clinical research or medical education)
Desirable criteria
- Higher degree (eg MD, PHD or equivalent)
