Our dedicated Lecturer (Teaching) team are subject specialists focused on delivering student education, which is active, social, applied, and inclusive within our vibrant and varied education environment.
The Role
The School of Health and Care delivers an extensive range of undergraduate and post graduate courses for professionals working in health and care settings inclusive of nursing, midwifery, occupational therapy, dietetics, paramedic science, operating department practitioners, diagnostic radiography, podiatry, clinical psychology and public health. As a Lecturer (Teaching) in Enhanced Practice you will undertake teaching and course co-ordination while supporting the development and delivery of undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programs and other core activities ensuring students have an effective learning experience.
Based within the School of Health and Care you will work closely with other academic colleagues to enrich the student learning and teaching experience to ensure, as appropriate, relevant aspects of research, enterprise and professional context are embedded in modules and courses.
Duties include:
- Teach on modules and courses at HE levels 4-7 in relevant academic subject areas including curation, adaptation and creation of module teaching materials, delivering a variety of types of students learning sessions and supporting students as appropriate through informal and formal communication throughout teaching semesters
- Development and enhancement of profession specific learning to support registrants develop towards enhanced level practice in health and care.
- Development of enriching and effective work-based learning approaches
- Provide support to registrants using a coaching and mentorship approach
- Working with range of stakeholders, employers and colleagues across health and care sector
- Subject expertise in the any of the following areas Rehabilitation, Frailty, Practice Education
You will be work alongside the Enhanced practice multi-professional team and pathway leads
Qualifications Required
- Master’s degree in an appropriate subject or Honours Degree with appropriate professional qualification and/or membership
- A teaching qualification or acceptance of the requirement to acquire one if not already held
- HCPC or NMC registrant with experience of working in the UK
- Active membership of an appropriate professional body

You will have experience of supporting learning within your role and of providing high quality academic and pastoral support to professionals
Enthusiastic and self-motivated, you will have experience supporting, enhancing and engaging in an ‘active learning’ pedagogy with evidence in proactively supporting student success.
As a global education provider, experience and awareness of learners cultural differences and expectations with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds is essential.
