Job overview
This post provides an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist, with an interest in physical health, to join the well established renal multi-disciplinary team at Glan Clwyd Hospital.
This post is open to both those wishing to apply for an 8A Clinical Psychologist position and to newly qualified Band 7 Clinical Psychologists, as a development post. We would also welcome applications from trainees in their final year of training. Please state on the application form which post you are applying for.
Main duties of the job
This post will involve both direct and indirect work and there may also be opportunities to develop groups within the service. The post holder will also have the opportunity to engage in consultation work and provide training to colleagues in the wider multi-disciplinary team.
The renal psychology service is a well established service that sits within a multi-disciplinary team alongside colleagues from a medical, nursing, and dietetics background.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post, but English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

Research, service improvement and continuing professional development are supported within the service and the service is a provider of trainee clinical placements.
The post holder will also be a member of BCUHB's Department of Health Clinical Psychology. This is a growing department of supportive and friendly Clinical Psychologists who work in physical health services across BCUHB and the department has strong links with the North Wales Clinical Psychology Programme.

Training and Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Good Honours degree in Psychology. Eligibility for Chartered status with the BPS.
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology, including complex multivariate data analysis as practised within clinical psychology

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
