Please be advised that there is a temporary top up for Bands 2 and 3 to reflect the incorporation of the top up to the living wage of £12.60 per hour - £24,638 per annum.

Job overview

The post holder will work as part of the local materials management team contributing to the efficient and effective movement of stock from order, through delivery to destination.

Whilst many of the tasks are generally routine the daily functioning of the department may at times be disrupted or unpredictable therefore a flexible approach is essential.

Main duties of the job

Order goods and services using the Health Boards electronic system ensuring compliance with the Health Boards Standing Financial Instructions (SFIs)

Receipting of deliveries using the Health Boards electronic system ensuring compliance with the Health Boards SFIs

Use barcode scanning equipment to keep control of stock when receiving goods

Maintain accurate and up to date record of all goods ordered and receipted

Assist in the safe off-loading of deliveries ensuring that goods and packaging are intact, there is no sign of leakage or spills, checking for signs of damage and / or tampering

Unpack and check items against delivery note and order information, ensuring accuracy and recording discrepancies. Report any discrepancies to supervisor immediately

Check goods for sufficient shelf life dates where necessary, reporting short shelf life to supervisor immediately

Maintain accurate and up to date record of all goods delivered

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
