The company is a separate legal body to North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust. The successful applicant will be an employee of the subsidiary and not the NHS.

Job overview

We are looking to recruit a self motivated, I.T. literate craftsperson with excellent  Electrical and  Engineering knowledge to join the estates team. The post holder will be responsible for fault finding on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment. The day to day duties will include planned preventative maintenance, general repairs, Energy Centre checks and responding to high priority emergencies to ensure continuity of service in a vibrant busy hospital. North Tees and Hartlepool Solutions is a wholly owned company, entirely owned by the Trust.

Main duties of the job

To install, maintain, service and repair the full range of estates specialist equipment, plant and infrastructure.

Provides technical advice to other estates maintenance staff and contractors to ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures.

Act in the role of Competent Person, as defined by Health Technical Memorandum, for the Electrical Distribution (LV) system.

Undertakes condition surveys, evaluates inspection reports.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • • BTEC, ONC and HNC electrical engineering. NVQ 3 in Engineering or equivalent technical qualification
  • • Adequate knowledge of and within the proceeding three years training for, first aid treatment for electric shock.
  • • Sterilizer (Porous Load) maintenance and testing to quarterly EN285
  • • Washer / Disinfector quarterly EN15883
  • • Endoscopy EN15883
Desirable criteria
  • Medical gas pipelines Water supply regs.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Completion of a structured training program in Electrical engineering for a minimum period of 4 years.
  • 2 years site experience.
Desirable criteria
  • Experience in working in an Acute Hospital environment.
