Job overview
An opportunity to support the specialist Perinatal Mental Health Midwifery Service. You will be required to support the specialist midwives working with pregnant people with mental health needs to provide bespoke care for their individual needs. This is an opportunity to enhance patient experience of maternity care by aligning with perinatal mental health service to ensure seamless care between the two disciplines.
We have two 22.5 hours per week posts in Colchester and one in Ipswich.

Main duties of the job

Working alongside the Specialist Midwife in the development of the new role of Perinatal Mental Health support Worker

To assist midwifery staff, alongside the Specialist Perinatal Mental Health Midwife, in providing emotional wellbeing support in pregnancy and for up to 28 days postnatal for mothers affected by a mild/moderate perinatal mental health concern

Widening access to care including working flexibly, offering home visits and supporting appointments as well as advocating for women to ensure reasonable adjustments are made.

As a key member of the MDT, promoting good working relationships within the MDT and wider organisations.

Arranges access to services to support personalised care plans, signposting and referring service users and their families to external agencies and services appropriately.
