Job overview

We provide all the physiology services you would expect from a leading tertiary referral cardiology centre in imaging TTE, Physiologist TOE and Stress echocardiography which comprises of  Dobutamine Stress Echo, Bike Stress Echocardiography and Treadmill

Our Cardiac Rhythm Management team provide Complex device implantation and follow up, SICD Implant and follow up , Laser lead extraction and have a Physiologist led Linq Implant service and we have two dedicated Electrophysiology Lab with complex 3D mapping.

Currently we are the UK core lab for TAVI

We are the leading provider for both undergraduate and post graduate specialist training for in Healthcare Science for Manchester Metropolitan University

We are currently looking for a highly motivated, communicative team player. You will be committed to continually improving your professional skills and those of the department.

 

Main duties of the job

1) Independently practices with a high level of skill and autonomy at Advance Specialist level in Cardiac Imaging

2) Independently practices with a high level of skill and autonomy a wide range of other cardiac physiology procedures

3) Provides effective day-to-day leadership of the cardiac physiology team within the advanced specialist field and other areas when required

4) Actively participates in practical & theoretical training & development of multidisciplinary healthcare professionals from inside and outside of the organisation

5) Participates in cardiac & associated medical research as integral to the role

6) To undertake any other duties which is deemed appropriate to the band when requested by Principal Cardiac physiologist

Education/ Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • BSc Clinical Physiology/ MSc Healthcare Science
  • BSE Accredited
  • RCCP/HCPC
Desirable criteria
  • Teaching qualification

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Minimum of 2 years post undergraduate qualification experience.
  • Practical & formal teaching of Cardiac Physiologists and other HCPs
  • Multi-disciplinary teamwork
Desirable criteria
  • Tertiary cardiac physiology practise
  • Invasive cardiac physiology practise
  • Participation in cardiac research
  • Experience in advanced techniques (Stress Echocardiography Transoesophageal 3D Transthoracic)
  • Experience in ACDH/paediatric cardiography
