Job overview

At present, University Hospitals of North Midlands is unable to offer visa sponsorship for Band 2 to Band 4 roles, as these positions do not meet the minimum salary and skill thresholds required under UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations.

Due to internal promotion within the team, an exciting opportunity has arisen within the Pathology Stores to join a small well established team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be required to assist in the receipt, issue and storage of Pathology supplies in accordance with Pathology Directorate and UHNM policies and procedures.

 

• Perform a range of routine and non-routine tasks within Pathology

 

• To work within the written Policies and Procedures of the Department especially in relation to

   Health and Safety and Quality.

 

• Will maintain and develop the Stock Control System.

 

• To be an efficient and flexible member of the Pathology Stores Team assisting in the delivery of the  Pathology Service, including maintaining the Top Up Service to the Laboratories, Offices and other users within Pathology along with replenishing and organising of The Lab Coat Room.

 

• The Post also involves booking Transport of Samples and Goods via Couriers, Trust Transport,  Blood Bikes and Taxis via Trust Estates to various external locations.

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • Good standard of Education demonstrated by GCSE grades A-C in Maths, Relevant NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
  • Awareness of Health and Safety matters.
  • Understanding the importance of confidentiality and data quality
Desirable criteria
  • NVQ level 3 Qualification relating to Storekeeping/Supply Chain duties

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • Experience in providing a Stores function, including using a computerised Stock Control System.
  • Experience in working to standard operational procedures
  • Experience of working in a team and alone
  • Experience of using a Procurement and receipting system
  • Experience of working within the NHS
  • Experience of demonstrating tasks to others
  • Knowledge of Pathology /Hospital Consumables
  • Customer Service
  • To have Basic IT skills
