Job overview
We are excited to recruit in to some administration opportunities within Women's Services to support our Clinic and Wards areas.
We invite enthusiastic, self motivated individuals with a positive attitude and excellent computer literacy skills to apply to join the Administration Team to support with all elements of pathway administration - registering patients on to the system, making appointments, taking calls and supporting with reception and Ward duties are all part of a typical days' work - along with other tasks allocated on a roster basis.

Main duties of the job
We welcome those who enjoy to work within a team, though are able to manage their own workload - a 4-week training plan provided with time to shadow duties being performed and demonstrate your learning.
The Maternity Wards operate from 0730-2000, Monday to Sunday. Shifts are allocated with 12 weeks notice within this time frame, with consistent shifts when possible.

• Royal Victoria Infirmary (RVI)
• Health Innovation Neighbourhood (on the former Newcastle General Hospital and Centre for Ageing and Vitality site)

• Newcastle Fertility Centre
• Northern Centre for Cancer Care, North Cumbria
• Northern Genetics Service
• Cramlington Manor Walks

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
You can expect to get involved in:
- Maintaining an efficient and reliable 24 hour admissions service for women attending the Maternity Unit
- A welcoming meet and greet to patients and families attending the Maternity Assessment Unit for urgent out-patient and day case care
- Prepare, deliver and upload timely patient information to our electronic and paper based records
- Ensure efficient processing and transfer of patients within our electronic bed board system
- Deal with telephone enquires politely and promptly
- Supporting others by demonstrating duties and a flexible attitude to supporting within the department
Please note it is a requirement of The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust that all successful candidates who require a DBS for the post they have been offered pay for their DBS certificate. The method of payment is a salary deduction from your first month’s pay.
