Main duties of the job

Large volumes of Audio typing from digital dictation, photocopying, filing, answering the telephone, scanning. Support Medical Secretary service subject to service needs cross site at HRI/CRH.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

See job description & person spec and evidence how you meet the criteria on your application in order to be shortlisted . Supporting the Medical Secretaries in Medicine, Covering all admin functions including scanning, photo copying, answering the phones, large volumes of Audio typing from digital dictation,  working with Nurses, Consultants to deliver admin (subject to service needs) ensuring deadlines are met.

QUALIFICATIONS / TRAINING

Essential criteria
  • English and Math GCSE grade 9-2 (A*-E) or equivalent or high level of literacy and numeracy skills demonstrated within application
  • RSA II typing/word processing
  • Audio typing
  • Willing to undertake further development/training
Desirable criteria
  • Understanding of Medical Terminology

Knowledge, experience & expertise

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working in a busy office environment (to deadlines and targets)
  • Knowledge of software packages such as Word, Excel
Desirable criteria
  • Experience of working in an NHS environment
  • Experience of working with Winscribe digital dictation
  • Knowledge of EPR

Communication & relationships

Essential criteria
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
