Paediatric Play Specialist

Job overview
The successful applicant will need to have the ability to implement developmental, therapeutic and specialised play to children and young people from birth to 18 years in an environment that changes constantly. You will also have experience in preparation, distraction and post procedural play techniques for a wide range of procedures and conditions.
Main duties of the job
Provide play based observations to influence and support the overall assessment of the child.
Respect the individuality, values, cultural and religious diversity of patients and their families, and contribute to the provision of a service sensitive to these needs
Ensure that up to date written records and activity data are maintained in accordance with Professional and Trust standards.
Work as a member of the multidisciplinary team to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions using reflective practice to achieve best outcomes
Work within the defined policies, procedures, standards and protocols of the Ward, Department Directorate and Division and report outcomes to HPS to enable monitoring of standards.

- Evidence of good numeracy and literacy
- NVQ Level 3 in Child Care and Education or equivalent
- HPSET qualification and registered with Healthcare play specialist Education Trust.
Experience
