Job overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented, enthusiastic individual to join our surgical division as a Senior Nurse for Critical care, inpatient and outpatient services incorporating our specialist Orthopaedic centre. We are looking for an innovative, compassionate leader that will help support and develop the current team while upholding the Trust Values.

The post holder will ensure ward sisters have adequate support to enable them to focus on their core responsibilities.

Essential criteria
- NMC Registered Nurse
- Degree in relevant branch of nursing
- Educated to Masters level (or working towards)
- Evidence of ongoing professional development in relevant area of speciality supplemented by specialist clinical, managerial training and CPD
- Leadership/management qualification or equivalent experience
Desirable criteria
- Recognised teaching and assessing qualification
- Coaching qualification
- PSIRF investigator training
- Project management training
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working within the specialty of critical care/acute care in a senior nursing role
- Teaching, mentorship ad supervision of staff practice development, including policy development
- Audit/research based nursing practise
- Resource management
- Change management
- Leading and developing a team
- Effective budget management
- Complains handling
- Trust wide initiatives/committe e membership
- Working at a senior nursing level at Band 8a
- Delivering training to meet specified outcomes
